Summer 2025 was unlike any other; A perfect balance of calm, fun, and unforgettable memories.
Family Reflection.
With no sports, camps, or packed schedules, our family enjoyed a true staycation. The kids (7, 9, and 11) worked through some light homeschool lessons, but mostly, we soaked in unstructured time together.
Personally, it was extraordinary. As some of you know, I’m adopted, and until recently, I knew nothing about my biological family. This summer, I had the opportunity to meet my biological father and two of my half-siblings. A little context… at this time last year, I didn’t even know they existed.
QUICK HIGHLIGHTS
- Drove to southern Indiana to spend time with my new brother. He even got me to play golf for the 1st time in about 12 years. I sure hurt the next day!
- While in Indiana, I was able to also meet my biological father and his wife for breakfast at Denny’s. It was a terrific experience.
- Later in the summer, my new sister happened to be in Charlotte for a work-related excursion. I was able to have dinner with her one evening at a local Mexican restaurant. The following morning, we were able to have breakfast together. Nothing like chicken and waffles to bond a new sibling pair.
It’s been such a blessing to build these new relationships, and I’ve really loved connecting with clients who’ve shared their own adoption and foster care journeys.
Looking Ahead.
Moments like these remind me that someday, I’ll look back and call this season “the good ole days.”
(I’d be remiss if I didn’t work in some financial planning here)
Financial planning works the same way. The decisions we make today determine whether you’ll have the margin, freedom, and clarity to fully enjoy tomorrow.
So let me ask: What do your “good ole days” look like and does your financial plan support that vision?
Next Step.
If you’ve been putting off a review, fall is the perfect time to check in. Let’s ensure your plan is aligned with the life you want to savor.
Stay disciplined. Work the plan.
