The Odds of Becoming a College Athlete

The odds of becoming a college athlete are not good. Most likely, an athletic scholarship is not going to save you from paying for college.

If your child is lucky enough to get a college scholarship, that is wonderful.

If funding college for your children is a top priority, start today. Outside of basketball and football, there are not a lot of full athletic scholarships available.

Nic Note: I was fortunate enough to play baseball in college and had a great experience. My personal belief is that an extremely high percentage of kids who want to play college athletics can in fact play college athletics. They may not be able to play at the best Division One schools in the country, but there are opportunities to continue to play at other levels.
