Gratitude and Reflection in Financial Planning

Graphic showcasing the things we are thankful for.

We hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving surrounded by friends, family, and football. Maybe you even bought a thing or two on Black Friday? Personally, Thanksgiving carries special significance as I met my wife on Thanksgiving 2000 at my childhood best friend’s house. We met somewhere between the broccoli casserole and the noodles. Twenty-two years and three children later, I feel very blessed by that encounter that could only be described as divine intervention. This Thanksgiving I paused to remember what I am grateful for.

I am thankful for many things:

  • Wife
  • Children
  • My parents, who live in my neighborhood
  • Health
  • Friends
  • Pickleball
  • Experiences
  • A handful of hobbies that I enjoy.

These Past Years

Over the past few years, I have determined that “stuff” no longer brings me much joy.

Of course, I still enjoy a thoughtful gift.  Who doesn’t?

However, one of the things that Jeff and I are most thankful for is the ability to be financial planners.

I know that might sound a little cheesy, but we believe it.

Few things bring us more joy than to hear your story and hopefully create a plan to improve your overall financial situation.

If you find yourself in a season where you are struggling, try to give yourself grace.

There are ebbs and flows for most of us.

Sometimes you do yours to simply get by.

Sometimes you do your best when you can save 30% of your income to fund your future best life!

Remember, life is rarely linear [save 10% from the moment you start working until you retire].

If anyone of your friends and family has financial questions, we are happy to be a sounding board for them.  We would be happy to talk to them.

If they are important to you, they are important to us.

We are thankful for you.
